Located on the outskirts of Newcastle Close House Golf Club is one of the golfing gems of Northumberland. The luxury property features two magnificent 18 hole courses named the “Colt” and the “Filly”. Despite only opening less than a decade ago Close House has already become a popular choice for many discerning golfers in the North East, as well as being frequented by numerous corporate and society days.
When visiting Close House you quickly come to realise that only the best is good enough, and this is clearly the case when looking at 30 brand new Club Car golf buggies they have taken delivery off this year. Unlike your standard precedent buggy the North East club has opted for custom black/ cream leather bucket seats which give the golf carts a luxurious look and feel, which is in fitting with the standards of the club. However the most exciting feature of the buggies is arguably the Visage system which is fitted to each vehicle. This includes an LDC screen fitted to roof of each buggie providing useful info such as GPS course maps and up to date weather info to the user.
The state of the art visage system also offers clubs many behind the scenes benefits. One of the most popular features is the “Geo Fencing” which allows the club to select which areas the buggy can and cannot go. A driver will be warned when approaching a fenced area, and if he or she continues towards that area the power will be cut, meaning the buggy will have to reverse if it wishes to continue. Other benefits enjoyed by Close House include the ability track to the buggies location and monitor the speed of play, along with the ability to digitally monitor the carts battery life.
Also new for this season at Close House is the addition of the specially adapted Club Car Café Express catering buggy which was supplied from our depot in Chester-Le-Street in Birtley. The Café Express works as a mobile refreshments cart and can supply golfers around both the Filly and Colt course with light refreshments and snacks mid game. Something which we are sure will be much appreciated by members on a cold Sunday morning in October.
